About Us

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to transform lives through education. The Father Vincent Welch Memorial Dinner, more than just a celebration of baseball, is a testament to the enduring impact of education on individuals and society.

Since its inception in July 1987, the Memorial Dinner has been a beacon of hope and support, commemorating the extraordinary ministry and sports enthusiasm of the late Fr. Vincent Welch. His legacy continues to inspire and guide our endeavors.

Through the generosity of our supporters at the annual dinner, silent auction, and raffles, we have proudly allocated over $4 million in scholarships over the past decade. These scholarships have been a lifeline to students at both the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) and Loyola High School, empowering them to pursue their dreams despite financial obstacles.

UDM stands as a beacon of excellence in higher education, renowned for its illustrious history and commitment to academic excellence. Similarly, Loyola High School has been a pillar in its community, offering high-quality education in an urban area where such opportunities are scarce. The school’s commitment to nurturing young minds in a financially challenged environment has been transformative for countless families.

Your contributions not only honor the memory of a remarkable individual but also ignite the potential of young minds at UDM and Loyola High School. Each donation is an investment in a brighter future, enabling students to embark on their journeys to better our world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual who has donated to our mission. Your support is not just a gift to these institutions, but a powerful statement of faith in the transformative power of education. Together, we are building a legacy of hope and opportunity, one scholarship at a time.
